Cool! Did you do that coil with the Coil Envelope script? I love that one.

Thanks for your comments! :D

Nope, this one is an extruded object with twist. Have a look over there: [link]

Actually, this video's intension was to explain something different, but it also shows how to quickly create a helix with regular AoI tools. :)

Anyway, there are a lot of different ways to create spirals like that.

That link does not play for me. It seems to be in German. I only speak English and a little bit of Spanish.

There's no audio track at all. ;) But you should be able to see the video track - it uses the ogg/theora codec, so it should work in a player like vlc.

I must confess that the video is pretty fast ... I still have to learn to slow down when explaining things.

:juggle:
:icongymnart:
What's vlc?
I don't know if I have that ogg/teora codec. (I'm running SuSE 10.0). I do have the ogg vorbis codec but I thought that was just music.

vlc is a media player (just google for these 3 letters) which brings it own codecs (afaik!).

Anyway, if I find some free time, maybe I'll do a short (written) tutorial about the several ways of creating helix-like objects. :)

Cool! don't forget the screenshots! A picture is worth a 1000 words! :D
